Tim Passmore is the Conservative Party’s candidate for the newly proposed Mayor of Norfolk and Suffolk, standing to represent the region in a pivotal role as part of the government’s devolution agenda. With over a decade of experience as Suffolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Tim brings a proven track record of public service, strong local leadership, and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing communities across East Anglia.
Born and raised in Suffolk, Tim has dedicated much of his career to championing the needs of both rural and urban communities. As Police and Crime Commissioner since 2012, he has prioritised visible local policing, crime prevention, and support for victims, while ensuring that public services remain accountable and responsive to local people.
His wider public service includes previous leadership of Mid Suffolk District Council, along with work in regional economic partnerships and business development. He is a passionate advocate for collaboration between local authorities, police, health, and education providers - values that underpin his vision for a stronger, better-connected Norfolk and Suffolk.
As mayoral candidate, Tim is campaigning to deliver real benefits for residents through devolved powers - improving transport infrastructure, boosting skills and jobs, unlocking affordable housing, and supporting green growth across the region. His focus is on practical leadership, empowering communities, and delivering value for taxpayers.
